  • So, I went and saw the highly anticipated INDY 4 movie this past weekend, and I have to admit I'm very dissapointed.  My friends and I were so excited that we bought tickets to the 12:15 in the morning show.  I even had to work the next morning, but was too excited to pass up the opportunity.  Now, I do have to prerequisite this with the fact that I grew up watching the original three movies.  They were some of my dad's favorites, so I have a a warm place in my heart for the Indiana Jones character.  I think that might have led to why I disliked this movie so much.  I'm not the type to just hate a movie, so I'm going to give you all the reasons why I didn't think it was very good.

    1. Harrison wasn't even Indiana Jones for the first half of the movie.  It took him a good 45 minutes to eve get back into the character.  That just made me sad.

    2. The acting in general wasn't very good.  I LOVE Cate Blanchett, but didn't think she did a very good job in this movie.  Same story with Shia...even though I thought he was better than the others.

    3. It was all CGI greenscreen stuff.  The old Indy movies had their elements of cheesy graphics and such, but the whole movie was greenscreen with over the top stuff going on.  There wasn't even a little bit of reality.

    4. The worst part for me was the story.  Obviously, I won't go into detail cause I don't want to ruin it for anyone that hasn't seen it, but the I thought the story was a huge cop out.  It was like, "We need to make this movie so we can make a bunch of money, but we're not going to take the time (AFTER 20 YEARS) to find a good script."

Now, I know I'm not the resident movie guy, but I was so passionate about this I had to tell some people.  So, to make things come full circle here's my advice for this week.  HAVE LOW HOPES WHEN GOING TO WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!!!

Hope you guys have a great week, and I'll talk to you soon.

  • So, if there are any sports enthusiasts out there you have to be enjoying life at the moment.  The Stanley Cup finals are about to start and it should be a great series with the Penguins and the Red Wings.  I hate to say it, because I absolutely despise the Red Wings, but I don't see how anyone could possibly beat them.  I guess if anyone could do it, it has to be the magic man himself, Sidney Crosby.  That kid is rediculous.  Could you imagine being 20 years old and having all of the pressure on your back that he does.  He handles it immensely wel if you ask me.  If you ahve a chance, go watch this video of him...he's pretty amazing.

On another story the NBA playoffs are going on right now and they've been amazing,  I myself am rooting for the Boston Celtics.  I'm not a band wagon fanatic, but the first NBA game I ever went to was between the Denver Nuggets and the Boston Celtics back when Larry Bird was playing.  Since then I've always kind of enjoyed them and wanted them to win.  Now I live in LA so the Laker Mania is just crazy right now.  I would love to see a Laker vs. Celtic finals, just as a throw back to the good ole days.  Either way there is some extremely exciting basketball going on.

    vs.

Now I know it's a little early to be talking football, but the countdown has begun and we are less than 100 days from football coming back.  That's my number one sport and I can't wait to see some very large men running into each other with plastic strapped all over them.  If that doesn't make you smile I don't know what will.

Well, I gotta run to go watch some sports, but I'll see you guys soon.

  • I hope you all are getting very excited cause Kelsey and I got together today and filmed some more footage for Advice Lounge.  We got some really good questions in and really appreciate those of you that wrote in.  We really enjoy getting your questions in and love trying to give you the best answer possible.

As for other things in life.  I just saw the movie P.S. I love you.  If you want a sad movie, you can't go wrong with this.  I was watching it with some girls and they were crying the entire movie.  And I don't mean just crying, it was like the sobbing uncontrollably out loud kind of crying.  I might have been able to get a little more into the movie if I didn't have two people heaving next to me.  ha.  On a similar note the soundtrack is very good as well.  It's got a good mix of slow/calm music with some upbeat songs that make you feel happier.  I highly recommend it.

I've also got some new people that you should listen to.  Sufjan Stevens and Jose Gonzales.  Both are amazingly talented musicly and lyrically.  They are very much on the calm side of things, so if you need someone to just listen to while you're relaxing they both are perfect.

    Sufjan Stevens

Thanks again for sending in the questions.  I hope you enjoy them as they are released on the website, and always remember to keep sending quesitons our way.

Catch ya on the flip side,

    Kevin

  •  What's happening all my Teenfaze friends?  I know summer is quickly approaching, so I'm sure a bunch of youa re getting excited to be out of school.  What kinds of things are you all planning to do this summer?  Any vacations, sports, etc?  I'm not really sure what I'm planning to do.  I'm hoping to go to the beach a lot, and I would love to take a camping trip if possible.  I love camping!

So, I'm just gonna throw out some thoughts since I' don't have anything specific to write.

Sports - BOTH my teams are out of the playoffs(Nuggets and Avalanche)

I've recently been listening to this great band called the weepies.  They are amazingly mellow if you like chill/folk music.  I highly recomend them.

I was driving down the street the other day and saw a poster for the Sex and the City movie that comes out at the end of this month.  The girl I was with went a bit nuts!  I think it's going to take over the world.

The house that I live in already has three dogs and a cat.  My roomate just informed me that he is getting another dog in the next couple of weeks.  If Sex and the City doesn't take over the world...the animals at my house will!

So, when I was home a couple of weeks ago, I brought my rollerhockey skates back with me out to CA.  My female roomate used to be a figure skater, so we decided to go skating around the neighborhood.  She also decided to bring her Boston Terrier with her.  We made it about a block and then were dragging her lazy little dog with us.  Not such a good mix...should have known.
