Bond is back (quickly, I might add; this is the first direct sequel in the franchise history) in this tale of fast cars and big explosions.

As Dominic Greene attempts to take over the world in his own subtle way, Bond fights to stop him and get revenge for the death of his lover, Vesper.

This film is all around good Bond action. Fans of the mid 90s Bond fare will enjoy QoS. Check out the review; you can actually hear me talk! Awesome!

HSM3 Part II

...right now!

So the first thing you should know is that once I got to the roundtable, I kinda felt out of place. The hotel was VERY fancy and upscale, and I really enjoyed myself and absorbed everything around me. Once I was in the press room, there were already press members sitting and chatting. They do this for a living, and it was really fun to hear them talk about their careers. But also, it was kinda like "may the best man win" to ask questions, cuz I only got to ask 1 of the 8 I had planned to ask.

What was this question? "What would you guys say to your peers out there who are going through similar situations your characters went through? Things like Prom, Graduation, College, seperation, etc."

Now, I got to ask this question only once, and it was during the Group 2 portion of the roundtable. And the only one to answer (mostly cuz it was an AWESOME answer, and because they were really on a time crunch) was Olesya. Said Miss Rulin, "I would tell them not to be afraid to fail. Go out and do your best with everything out there. Don't worry about it!" And she knows what she's talking about. During her senior year, Olesya had a full time job and 5 AP classes, so I trust she knows what she's talkin about!

HSM3 Part I

Well, the wait is finally over. High School Musical 3 is FINALLY HERE!

Now, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not a huge fan of musicals. I like Fiddler on the Roof. But that's about it. So when the time came to go to the press screening last weekend, I was a bit skeptical. But much to my suprise...

I liked it.

The songs are extremely catchy, the dance moves are bigger and better than the first two films, and the plot doesn't fall by the wayside! From the first frame (which I would give away, but I think it would kinda ruin the fun for the Zac Effron fans out there--mostly the lady types.), the film sets the tone for an hour and a half of pure fun.

And what's really cool is that i got to go to a "meet the cast roundtable" the next day! What that means is...well why don't I just copy down my notes, eh?

7:31--Arrived at Four Seasons...very fancy.

8:00--Checked in and heading to conferance room.

9:09--Group 1 of the cast enters: Zac Effron, Corbin Bleu, Kenny Ortega(the director), Jemma McKenzie-Brown, Matt Prokop, Justin Martin, and Bill Borden(producer). Other members of the press begin their questions.

9:38--Group 1 answers final questions, leave for next room.

9:43--Group 2 enters: Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, Olesya Rulin, Peter Barsocchini (writer), and Barry Rosenbush. Press questions begin.

10:02--Group 2 leaves, as do I.

Now I'm sure you're asking yourself, "Self, why isn't Jake telling us what actually happened at the roundtable?!" Well, selves, hold on to your Wildcats jersey. And read my next blog...

SCREENING!!!

On Saturday, I was lucky enough to attend the press screening for Beverly Hills Chihuahua in Hollywood. I had a blast!

Our video review should be up soon, but here's a snippet of what I think. While it's not the next Finding Nemo or Cars, it was kinda cute. What's funny is that the director had the ability to make the dogs seem more human than the actual human actors in the film.

The voice cast, led by:

Drew Barrymore

George Lopez

and Andy Garcia

were superb. Lopez definitely brings the funny as Papi--the jilted lover/landscaper that is hopelessly enamored with Chloe the pampered pup.

So I say this film is more for the younger crowd, but it's definitely something the family can enjoy!

A night of history...That took FOREVER.

So I don't know how many of you care, but the Emmy's were last night.

In my house it's always been tradition to watch the Emmy's and Oscar's every year. And this year was no different. So I tuned in to ABC last night around 8 (cuz even though it's shot in LA it can't be live in LA?) expecting a good show.

I was wrong.

Those who won the awards deserved them. I have no qualms abuot that. Except 30 Rock. I don't really watch the show and the one episode I did see wasn't that funny. I'm more a fan of The Office. But that's neither here nor there.

My qualms are....okay, I just realized I said qualms twice. Not cool.

My PROBLEMS with the show were with the FIVE hosts that didn't host the show.

I felt more uncomfortable watching these Emmy's than I have in a long life full of uncomfortable happenings. The jokes weren't funny, the actors were bitter, and the camera men couldn't do their jobs correctly, I.E. one of the late night writing crews won (i think it was Daily Show) and one of the head writers was walking down the isle, stopped to shake hands with someone for two seconds, then continued to walk. The camera guy apparently couldn't see her continue to walk and just STOOD there, so the poor woman WALKED INTO THE CAMERA!!!

Okay, I'm done ranting. For now.

But I'm happy that Jeremy Piven won, yet again, for Entorage. And I thought Seacrest was going to win the Reality Show host award, but Jeff Probst isn't a bad choice either.

For fans of Disturbia, the same director is at the helm, leading Shia Lebouf (yet again), Michelle Monaghan, and Billy Bob Thorton in this thriller about a young man and woman who receive phone calls demanding they follow vague instructions to save their lives.

I highly recommend this flick, lemme know what ya'll think!

There's a game you can play just like the in the movie--and they can make it very real!!! Trust me, I got freaked out!

Feeling Minnesota? I know I am...

Sup peeps?

Don't know if you know this, but I've been in the great state of Minnesota for a while now, but I'm coming back to LA! WOOT! So now instead of just reading my words, you'll see my pretty face (not) all over this site! Word!

But, alas, I am saddend by the fact that I'm leaving my once and future home state. So I decided to make a list of Minnesota movies that you should know about...

Number one, well that should be obvious. Fargo, written and directed by the Cohen Bros. Violent. Loaded with snow. Ya, sure. Ya betcha. And no, not everyone talks like that, but trust me there are a lot of us out here that'd suprise ya. Pick up the DVD with the special doc called "Minnesota Nice". Good times there...

Number two, well, this one ya'll should actually avoid. It's called Feeling Minnesota, starring Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz. Just...pretend like I didn't say this. I could have just as easily been called Feeling Nebraska or something. EW.

Number three, well, this is very art-y, but I love it. A Prarie Home Companion, directed by Robert Altman (his last film). Tells the half true story of a group of radio show performers and the fateful last night of their show. I say half true because the show does exist (I've been, it was amazing), but it hasn't been cancelled. Still going strong. The movie is pure Minnesota, check it out tonight!
