  • One thing I realized is that I never talk about anything BUT movies on my blog. What if I was to talk about my favorite music or something? Would the world end...or would it be mine...? *NARF!!!* (<--if you don't get that, we're not friends.)

Anywho...I..um...OKAY! I can't not talk about movies. I just can't. I have to. Ok? Ok.

So, like, two weeks ago I bought I AM LEGEND. Great film. Well done--Will Smith at his best. PROBLEM. I bought the single disc edition, which is just fine. But there's a two disc edition that came with an Unrated Version of the film with A DIFFERENT ENDING!!! Now I'm sitting here reeling, wondering what in the heck the other ending is! If anyone knows, let me know.

But yeah. Feel free to send me messages and what not and let me know what's up with you and what movies you like and are looking forward to.

BTW, MAY 23RD-----MARK IT DOWN ON YOUR FORHEADS NOW. INDIANA JONES 4 COMES OUT!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAAYYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!!!

  • ...Hmm?

Oh, you're asking me? Well, I'll tell you.

    LEATHERHEADS!!!

The new film by George Clooney tells the story of football at its early stages when there were no rules. Clooney and "The Office" star John Krasinski light up the screen as they fight on the field and off--mostly for the attention of Renée Zellweger... Be sure to check out this hilarious and heartwarming film, which is the second directed by Clooney himself.

For those of you who are more into getting scared...PROM NIGHT!!!

Keen eyed viewers of 90's flicks will notice the badguy is played by Johnathon Schaech, who is, in my opinon, most known for his role as Jimmy in "That Thing You Do!"--one of my Top 5 films of all time, no doubt...

Prom Night tells the story of Donna, who was stalked and almost killed by her teacher some years earlier. Now on the night of her senior prom, her crazy teacher breaks out of the psych ward and hunts her down, letting no one get in his way! First time film director Nelson McCormick does a fine job making the tense times very tense, and keeps the actors and ensemble alive, which gives this film a very realistic feel.

Finally, if you haven't already, check out the trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! The 4th in the series, Crystal Skull follows Indy on his latest adventure, where he is older, but the same old Indy we all know and love. Shia Lebouf and Cate Blanchett round out the all star cast, with famed director, and my personal favorite, Steven Spielberg at the helm yet again. Honestly, would it be an Indiana Jones film without Spielberg? No. The answer is no.

    The trailer...

Well, I've rambled enough. Let me know what films you've seen and that are worth checking out!

  • Hey everybody! So I don't know about anyone else, but where I am we are experiencing a "Heat Wave", and I'm LOVING IT!!!! But...I digress. I guess. I'll press...on. (That rhymed.. Sweet...) HORTON HEARS A WHO I read this book as a child--well, my dad read it to me and I read it after that--and I fell in love with Dr. Suess. This story, along with Horton Hatches the Egg, were what got me into the Suess world. This film does a great job of telling the story without going too silly, but, hey, it's a family flick. They have to go for the silly humor sometimes, right? The voice cast, which includes such heavy hitters as Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, and Seth Rogan, couldn't be more perfect. This film, if you wanna start comparing things, is more like THE GRINCH than the horid disaster that was THE CAT IN THE HAT. Let's just all forget that ever happened... A film I would shy away from this weekend is NEVER BACK DOWN. A cookie cutter plot and soap opera style acting gives this film a bad aftertaste. I'm just not into this kind of flick, but it's not just because it's the same plot different story. I'm just not into the "pretty boy is angry and must get out his rage in secret ways" kinda plot. Somewhat like DISTURBIA, where we were supposed to believe that Shia Lebouf was a "bad boy". He played the part well, but the script gave his character confusion. NEVER BACK DOWN does much of the same, only it never really redeams itself. BUT!!! (lol i said...nevermind...) There is hope on the horizon! I AM LEGEND is finally coming to DVD on Tuesday the 18th. I will be first in line to pick this up. And I hear tell that Best Buy and other retailers are offering Independence Day and I, Robot special edition DVD's at a lower price during the week of I AM LEGEND's release...keep your eyes peeled... Until next time-- JDSIII
  • So lately I've been working on a script that I hope to send out in the next year. I know that my script has a 1 in a Million chance of landing on the desk of Steven Speilberg, but hey, that's a chance. I want to make it in "The Biz". I know I have what it takes. Do you? Mind if I give out a little advice? K, good. Here it is: From my experience, if you wanna make it in show business--and, let's face it, it is a business--you have to have a product to sell. This sounds weird but it's true. If you're an actor/actress going in for an audition, you should walk in and be saying in your head, "They want me for this role. They just don't know it yet. And I'm about to prove it to them." Yes, it's true. If you're good looking and know a few people you're better off than someone who is a bit sore on the eyes and knows no one but their cat. I know a few people in the industry--I can count the number on 1 1/2 hands--but it's a start. If you want to be a Cinematographer (the guy who helps light and set the tone of a shot), the best way to become the best at the job is to start as a Production Assistant. See what it's like on a set before you try to light for one. Then meet some people and work on another project with them as a Film Loader, etc. Eventually, your visions will manifest and you'll know the right ways of making them appear in real life. Same goes for any job in the biz. Start small but think big!
