  • Hey everybody!

It's been flippin cold where I am, but I'm looking forward to the summer when not only is it hot outside, but movies (hopefully) will be gettin hotter.

On a quick note, I wish to extend my regards to the family and friends of Heath Ledger. I respected him as an actor, and, like many have said, was only just starting his great career. His death is shocking and tragic, but his memory will live on. I am looking forward to seeing The Dark Knight, if only for his perfomance.

That said, The Dark Knight is the only film that I'm really looking forward to right now. With the writers strike still on (but hopefully not much longer) the crop of movies is thining. And, I'm not gonna lie, I'm not liking what I'm seeing that's coming out lately. Fool's Gold, The Hottie and the Nottie, etc. I mean, c'mon. Really? Not every film can win an oscar, I understand. But films like this are just a waste of everyone's time.

But, I'm a bit of a film snob. So this is all just my opinion. Take it or leave it.

Speaking of Oscars--message me and let me know which actors/actresses/directors/films you want to win! There's too many for me to write now...but as the awards get closer, I will write again.

So what to see soon? Definitely, Maybe, which stars Ryan Reynolds and Abigail Breslin as father and daughter coping with divorce. Yeah, it's a romantic comedy. But it's funny, heartwarming, and well written. More than just fluff here. Definitely. Maybe.    ....bad joke....

    So, until next time...yeah!

  • For those of you who don't know, that line is from CLOVERFIELD!!! When the trailer hit this summer, I was hooked, and it won't be long til 1-18-08 comes around and we are all graced with this film.

The story surrounds a monster attack on NYC, which looks awesome...but at the same time, I'm reminded of the attacks on NYC almost 7 years ago and how deeply all were affected by it. The picture of the Statue of Liberty without her head is cool and well crafted, but I have a feeling that some moviegoers will be slightly disturbed by its very real themes.

All that said, it's just a movie. I AM LEGEND took place in NYC and showed mass destruction, but wasn't the focus of the film.

So go see CLOVERFIELD, and keep enjoying your new year! Hope your resolutions are staying strong!
