  • You're thinking: What, oh what, shall I rent this gloomy weekend? Tis so cold outside as Christmas approaches...oh-what should mummy and daddy get me for Christmas...?

Yes? Sweet! I knew I was right!

So what shall you rent this weekend? What should go on your christmas list?

As far as rentals go, definitly check out The Namesake. Starring Kal Penn, of funny film fame with movies such as Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, Epic Movie, and Van Wilder: Rise of Taj, this film brings out the serious actor out! Penn stars as Gogol Ganguli, an Indian American college student who struggles to know who he really is, what he really wants, and who he really wants to be. From the director of Vanity Fair, this film is sure to please the Kleenex box cuddler in all of us!

Now for new releases in theaters: Unfortunately, the film I have this week is a DON'T see at the Box Office. It's a film that I thought would bring out the music lover and the Kleenex box cuddler in me. But, sadly, I was just confused and bored. The film I'm talking about is August Rush. Now, I know, I'm a guy. Maybe I'm not supposed to get it. Maybe the whole plot's over my head. But I like to think I have an open mind when it comes to film, and I can't help but say that the film was a waste of my time. While I appreciated Johnathan Rhys Myers performance, that was about all I could get into.

    Christmas list musts:

    • PIRATES 3!!! Forrrrrrr all the scurrvy dogs in us, get one of the biggest films of the year!
    • HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHEONIX!!! Must have for all wizards!
    • 24 SEASON 6!!! Okay, maybe not all of you have this on your must have list, but still. It's freakin awesome.

Well, that's all for the blog!

  • Hey Everybody!!!

It's time again for some new releases for DVD and in theatres, and I'm gonna let you know what's definitly worth your time.

If you're into musicals, then Hairspray is a no-brainer! With big numbers and even bigger stars, Hairspray has something to offer for everyone, and teaches us all that different doesn't mean wrong. Personally, I'm not a big musical guy, so I wasn't a big fan. But if you've rocked out to Rent or cried at Wicked, then check out Hairspray!

Action fans get their long awaited fix this week in more than one medium. First up, we've got Live Free or Die Hard, or as some of us geeks call it, Die Hard 4. DH4 brings back one of the best action heroes of the 90's, John McClane, who is older, wiser, and tougher! Justin Long plays a convincing cyber geek (which is the ironic part due to his PC/MAC commercials...), and savvy film geeks will notice Kevin Smith as Justin's cyber hacker friend...I know I laughed.

Also out this week is Hitman, starring Timothy Olyphant, who also starred in DH4! A programmed killer seeks revenge in this film based on the hit video game. While this movie is rated R, I stll say check it out if you're a fan of action flicks with a plot that involves more than blowing stuff up. Which is the best part, but hey. Whatev.

So that's it for now. Keep watching the site and look for new content coming soon! Let me know which movies are your favorite to watch for Christmas, and we'll get a list going for our show!
