Croc or NOT

So I have been noticing this "Crocs" thing that has been going on. If you haven't seen them, I have some pictured here. But, again, like the thongs with socks dilemma, I am not quite sure what to think of Crocs.

Well, actually I do have an opinion. They really aren't for me.

Seems like my feet would get really sweaty in those things. My friends and i have promised to get matching pairs of them in four different colors. We actually have a contest to count how many people wearing crocs whenever we are together. My niece, the cutest little thing ever, was so excited at Sunday dinner to show me her new Crocs. I had to hide my displeasure. At least they did match her dress.

So here's the challenge!!!! Hit me up and let me know. Croc or Not.

Cool Scarves and other ramblings.

Hey all, What's the haps?

Not much here. I am totally enjoying being on summer. The heat here is killing me. Luckily I've had summer school and it is so cold in class I have a sweater. By the time I get home, a few minutes of air conditioning keeps me from melting.

So first off, I wanted to see if you have all been noticing the cool scarves that are out there now for guys and girls. They are big, and come to a triangleish shape almost down at the belly button when worn around the neck. Most of them have some fringe on them and come in all sorts of colors. I've seen people on "So You Think You Can Dance" wearing them, and other stars, as well as everyday folk walking the streets. I can't seem to find a pic of them online. If you see one or no where to get them, post it up here. Though it's not totally the season for scarving, it would be awesome to get a jump start on the fall.

Ok, I usually don't talk about other things than fashion, but I went to see "The Happening" and it ain't happening. It was one of the worst movies I have seen in years. It was laughable. I can't believe movies like that actually get made. It had some of the worst acting I have ever seen. Marky Mark did not have his funky bunch on this one. The best actress was one that owned a home in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, she isn't in it too long. Her lines were horrible, but she made the best out of them. Sad, very sad. Someone owes me $10.50. haha.

THONGS

Did I get your attention? Well, this really is about thongs. The ones that you wear on your feet.

Some people here in SoCali call them "chanclas". I tend to go with Flip Flops. No matter what you call them, though, please, please wear them the right way.

I'm not too sure what the concensus is in other parts of the country, but I am pretty much over the socks with thongs things.

Listen, if it's hot enough out to wear flip flops, then it itsn't cold enough for the socks. I mean come on people!! It needs to be one or the other.

Now, I don't usually right just my own opinion here, but I felt compelled as summer is coming. Here in SoCal, it is pushing past 100 already and i guess this is one of my fashion pet peeves.

Do me a favor, if you are somewhere else in the country or world, send me a message and let me know if you think thongs and socks are hot or not.

Hope you are all finding awesome things for your -drobe. I have gotten a couple of things and need some new shoes desperately.

Tighten it up ! !

National controversy came after a few years of baggy pants. Yep, can you believe that cities in Georgia, New Jersey, and some others were actually going to ban baggy pants? They were going to impose fines of up to $500. That is crazy.

Well, in my opinion, law makers have little to worry about these days. It seems to me that baggy pants are on their way out. Pants and jeans that FIT are in. No longer is everyone under 24 showing off their latest and greatest "I heart Mom" underwear carefully cascading under the tshirt and just over the studded belt around the waist.

Nope, not so anymore. Most guys are leaving a little more to the imagination in that sense and showing off what sports and PE class have done for our legs and rear. Now don't get me wrong. Tight is out too. Pants that FIT seem to be all the rage. Many superstars are doing the same thing. Check out Ferrell or some others and the threads they wear on the south side of their bodies.

Try out a pair of pants that FIT. I bet you'll get a FITTING reaction.

Shoelaces Where?

So one of my good friends, Ish, (prounounced eesh) has been wearing shoelaces ON HIS BELT. It started back when he was low on belts and his last one snapped. All he had left was his skateboard and shoelaces. In the day of saggy pants, this wasn't working out. He took a shoelace out and busted it into his belt. I 've been telling him for years that it was lame, but guess what? I was wrong. It's a big thing in the skating community. No longer does the leather of a belt bust in the the abdomen as you are trying to pop a shove it or some other cool trick. The lace did however cause a bit of a problem in the junk area though. Yep, that's right, as some skaters were ollying cracks in the cement, their own personal junk drawer crack sometimes showed.

Some skateboard clothing manufacturers have now put lace loops in their new belt loop area. This makes the pants a hybrid of sorts. Want a belt or laces, either way will work with these pants. I'm not sure I can pull the lace look off. I have been blessed or cursed with a big back end and not sure a mere shoelace will keep my ~~pance~~ up. If you want to follow in Ish's footsteps or all those skaters out there, grab a lace or toe and see what happens. (Beware of skaters saying you're "posing") I think fashion is for everyone, no matter where it originated. If you like it, use it. Til next time, Fab

Hit the Target

Soooo...... I can't believe what I found. I know, I know, you never really think of this place for fashion, but I loved what was there that caught my fancy. Drum roll please.........bah dum dum.... the place is TARGET. Yes, that's right, TARGET. See I went there for some bedroom essentials; air freshner plug ins (don't ask), towels, etc., and I looked in the men's section. Target has some cool tees and you know how I love hats. I picked up an awesome horizontal striped tee in grey and red (my friend thinks it's pink), and a couple of cool hats. Everything was super affordable and great quality. Check out these hats.

The fedora is a hit and I bought the other one in black. What have you been finding and where? Let me know. Fab =)

Splash of color

Hey all, Hope you are having a great holiday season and a kick butt start to your Spring. Yes, yes, "Spring has sprung" (Do you remember that bulletin board back in elementary school?) Anyway, It truly is here. I am already loving the weather. So what to do? Evaluate your wardrobe!! Now that winter is gone, see what pieces you need to stick around as things heat up and we head in to Summer. For Spring, add SPLASHES OF COLOR to your get up. There are so many fun colors out there to sport. Even if you enjoy chilling out in the darker tones, grab a belt, hat, bracelet, handkerchief shoes, or something to spring up your get up. It'll lift your spirits as we head into the end of the school year. FINALLY.
