When Kayla Collier, Miss Florida Teen USA, was only 15, she started hitting the tanning salon to help her get rid of the ghostly white tone of her skin under those bright pageant lights. Later that year, when she was trying on her homecoming dress, her mother noticed a scab on her back. It was diagnosed as skin cancer. Not sure if the tanning beds were the cause, there is still a lot of attention on tanning bed use for teens.
